ZOOM Tooth Whitening

Tooth Whitening can help improve:
- Your appearance
- Your smile
- Your confidence
Tooth Whitening is a simple non-surgical procedure that you can either have done here at the surgery for immediate results or if you prefer you can do at home. It has been proven to be effective on reversing the effects of ageing, coffee, tobacco and other stains.
What is the procedure involved?
In the Surgery
- You will need to see the Dentist for a 1 hour appointment
- You will be fitted with a gum shield to retract the lips and the Zoom Whitening gel is painted on the teeth.
- A Zoom light is then placed close to the teeth for 15 minutes and the light and gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discolouration.
- The gel is then washed away and the procedure repeated 3 or 4 times
- The gel is then finally washed away leaving dramatically whiter teeth.
- You can also take some gel home to 'top up'.
At home
- You will need to see the dentist to have some trays made to fit your mouth; you will then require a second appointment to collect the trays, tooth whitening solutions and instructions.
- You then complete the procedure at home, which simply involves applying the gel to the trays and wearing for approximately 1 hour.
What is supplied in the Home Pack?
- You will be given your trays and instructions.
- Initially the gel is supplied in a box with 6 syringes inside, for the whole mouth you will be provided with 1 box.
Am I able to buy more gel if required?
- Yes, you can buy 'top up' packs.
- If you wish to repeat tooth whitening 6 or 12 months later, you will not need to buy further trays as long as you look after the original trays that are provided, you will only need to buy the gel.
What is the cost?
- Cost for treatment will depend on whether you just want to whiten one tooth or the whole mouth and whether you prefer to have the procedure done at the surgery or at home. The dental surgeon or reception will be able to give you an estimate for the treatment.
